I hope you enjoy your tinkering because thermodynamics will keep you from your goal that you are trying to achieve. If it was just a simple linkage you needed you should have accomplished your goal by now. There is no such thing as perpetual motion in an atmosphere except for that barometric clock that was made back in the day. Your device might work in a vacuum with magnet bearings that produced considerably less friction but you are living in a pipe dream to think this thing will work.

i think you shoulod put a few copper wire coils around your cylinder, that would buid up current, and replace your oscillating magnet by an electromagnet that would only trigger when needed, timing is the key again, just an idea, eventually to reduce friction a photoelectric cell would trigger the electromagnet.
To generate electricity, gorget gears, just tap into the magnetic field of the device, the coils around it are the perfect solution.

A magnet has no more intrinsic energy than does a rubber band. Just because one cannot see a magnetic field does not make it more magical than a spring. These would-be magnetic motor inventors confuse force with energy. For a good description of the problems they face look up “The Museum of Unworkable Devices” then look under “The Classic Magnetic Shield Engine.”

Force is energy or it can create energy. For example a car rolling makes force. If you find a way to conduct energy, ie, current from the wheels you have force creating energy.

The unworkable devices are un workable because there is no profit in the power industry for it. Watch the video about Nicola Tesla. The man was going to power the world without wires, they new he could do it but “they”(J.P. Morgan) couldnt meter that power so he shut Tesla down. SAD. We could be so much more advanced

The car has energy …
The car has energy because it is moving. The energy came from gasoline. When you slow down, you can recover a fraction of your energy if you have a generator in your car. The car looses energy because magnetic brakes slow it down and that kinetic energy becomes electric as energy is transfered from the car to electrons. Formula One cars use this priniciple to get a little electric boost after they recover energy. Pretty cool.

But no free energy.
