If you’re in the market for used auto sales, Austin’s DriveTime dealerships have a wide selection of vehicles to choose from. We know that it can be very difficult to get financed for a vehicle when you have poor credit, but at DriveTime we focus on getting people with bad credit into a used auto. Other dealerships may claim they can sell you a car no matter what your credit history is, but all too often this turns out to be an empty promise. That’s why you can count on DriveTime to find you a used car that you will be proud to drive!

yea i’m lookin forward to those ideas you have on lighting, they sound fascinating! solar panels have come a long way but i agree they are going to have to keep improving at that rate in order for them to be a widespread viable option.

they ADD 25% to your bill?!?!? wtf?!? they should be promoting it ffs!

      That is a …
That is a disgrace … but really of no surprise. Part of the appeal for me of homes being self-sufficient in terms of energy generation is in relegating the greed of power companied to the dustbin of history. Yes, we’d still need them if / when electric vehicles (~90% efficient by design) become commonplace, but with an entire roof of 80-90% panels many homes are going to generate more than they need, leaving excess for an energy co-op to help vehicles (~15KW per hour normal running).

      this is a fab …
      this is a fab series.

here in cornwall, there are scores of turbines generation electicity, spread across several “wind farms”

however, from the energy supplier, should you opt to receive your electricity from this renewable source, they will add 25% extra to your bill.

in other words, they are making renewables more expensive, rather that cheaper. this needs to be overturned URGENTLY. frankly i’m surprised the regulator let’s them get away with it.

    14. ArtificialCleverenAI Says:

      For example, if we …
For example, if we had panels in the 80-90% efficiency range, then – although I haven’t done the math yet, I’m extrapolating what I’ve been doing looking at lighting only systems with 15% panels – I reckon you could generate most, if not all, the electricity you need, even in the UK climate and at worst case seasonal light conditions. 1 roof = enough for 1 house.

This would free the grid to supply energy for electric vehicles – we couldn’t presently run them as there ain’t enough grid power.

    15. ArtificialCleverenAI Says:

      This series is …
This series is really great, Oojie. I really hope to explore the issue of renewable energy in a series of vids myself in the near future (time! time! time! never enough of, bleh!)

Keep in mind that most commercial solar panels are around 15-20% maximum efficiency. This is of course dire. They’re also still pricey. Recently 50% eff. panels have been developed, but cost a bomb.

Speaking of bombs. If just a fraction of bang money went on this tech, we could ALL be generating our own energy/cont’d

      that’s an …
that’s an interesting point there vikingNinja.. here in the UK we shut down the coal mines in the 80s, losing 10s of thousands of jobs, it crippled the economy and i didn’t see those dudes all goin to work on wind farms, lol! but we do need to move away from fossil fuels, they are just not sustainable in the long term

    20. TheVikingNinja Says:

      nice video. The …
nice video. The elephant in the room that the US doesn’t want to talk about is the fact that there is more coal here than anywhere. If you go green, you lose jobs. Poeple say you can replace them with “green” jobs, but I don’t buy it. Didn’t know that about the underground water heating system, sounds cool, just won’t be able to get hot water, only warm, but I could live with that I guess. I think nuclear is a good source as well. No air polution and low risks. Niggas is broke these days.
