What gear or RPMs should I aim for to insure I’m getting the best gas mileage? I drive a 5-speed 2002 Honda Civic.
Always use the highest gear possible, no jack-rabbit starts, no
sudden stops, drive 5 mph under the speed limit. A car running 55mph @ 2200rpm will always get better mileage than a car running 70mph @ 2700rpm.
If you’re in the market for used auto sales, Austin’s DriveTime dealerships have a wide selection of vehicles to choose from. We know that it can be very difficult to get financed for a vehicle when you have poor credit, but at DriveTime we focus on getting people with bad credit into a used auto. Other dealerships may claim they can sell you a car no matter what your credit history is, but all too often this turns out to be an empty promise. That’s why you can count on DriveTime to find you a used car that you will be proud to drive!
Don’t run the rpm’s up so far before shifting, shift asap, use highest gear to keep rpm’s lower.
The lower the rpm’s the more mpg’s you achieve

3. dont go past 3. try not to over accelerate alot and brake too much. Slowly accelerate soo you dont kill your gas and dont go past 3000 rpms
