Higher octane actually decreases temperature to prevent premature explosion of the fuel. Since the engine in an average sport bike isn’t able to inject oxygen and fuel as fast and facilitate the explosion with enhanced fuel consumption in the chamber, it’s a net negative combustion resulting in more gasoline at the exhaust.

Octane levels in gas will not make you get better gas mileage, But it will help prevent your fuel air mixture in your engine from detonation or pre-ignition.

I have a 1050cc engine and do the same journey every day. I used to fiil up every 2 weeks. I changed to higher octane fuel and now get 2 more days riding to work per tank. Works for me.

Using higher octane WILL NOT do anything on gas mileage or performance. This has been tested again and again and it has no improvement. Higher octane is only needed in certain vehicles designed to run specifically on higher octane.
